University Financial Aid
Application Deadline: February 15

DU Financial Aid: see Office of Financial Aid

The university centrally processes all requests for financial aid for entering students. In order to apply for loans and departmental assistance, you must first complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). For complete instructions, follow the link above to DU's Office of Financial Aid. To receive priority consideration, it is important that you complete this process by the application deadline, so plan ahead.

IIC Scholarships
The IIC program works to decrease the financial demands of its admitted students. This assistance comes in the form of scholarships, loans, work study and Colorado Grants (for Colorado residents). The IIC program does not offer any teaching or research assistantships.

In order to be considered for financial aid, all students must be accepted into the program, and have submitted complete financial aid materials. Selection criteria include: academic record, GRE scores, financial aid need level, professional experience, and career objectives. Most financial aid awards are made in April. Completed School of Communication Applications for Financial Aid from all students must be submitted with the other application by February 15 to the Office of Graduate Admissions.

Procedures for Students from the US: A limited number of partial tuition scholarships are awarded each year. Other sources of financial aid include work study positions, Carl Perkins loans, and Colorado Grants. Students seeking any form of financial aid must file the IIC Financial Aid form (domestic students only) with the department by February 15, and also must complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid Form (FAFSA)

Procedures for Students from Outside the US: A Graduate Dean's Scholarship is the only form of financial aid available to international students. These scholarships cover a portion of tuition and do not apply to living expenses or books. Students must submit an International Student Financial Aid application to the Office of Graduate Admissions, as well as a IIC International Financial Aid form (international students only).
